For day to day maintenance, light vacuuming (preferably with the nozzle attachment of your vacuum), will do the important job of removing surface dirt.
Moths love natural fibres and prefer dark places so it’s advisable to vacuum the back of the carpet all around the edges and under surrounding furniture to guard against this.
It’s also a good idea to turn your carpet regularly to avoid fading from bright sunlight and to even out worn patches.
Please use cups underneath furniture and avoid sharp castors as all these will crush the carpets fibres.
Never lay an oriental rug on a damp floor as the wet can cause rot.
